The Armour Collection was created during my Residency at The Quimby Colony in Portland, Maine.
This collection explores loss and the inevitable mourning that proceeds with hope for internal protection and exterior armor in return. I studied historical clothing and military armor to draw inspiration for shape, line and content. An interest in merging utility fabric, animal hide and moments of bold color all merge in these garments.
Material for this work was sourced in Maine by working with The Marston House for the antique fabric and Buckwheat Blossom Farm for the use of beautiful sheepskins.
