The silence and isolation winter bestows upon the human condition informs the work in Winter Reply. Studying garments and accessories of winter used for protection, pleasure and day-to-day wear, I propose new forms through a filter of personal experience. The resulting objects are poetic and absurd responses to necessity that suggest feelings of comfort, joy and distress through the wearer and viewers interaction. These winter replies act as tools and extensions of the body, exterior portrayals of the mind and revealing of a suggested way of being during this climate.
